Q: If I need it, will the staff set out the clothes I want to wear so I can dress myself?
A: Yes. We can also assist you with dressing, if needed. However, your privacy is very important to us and the staff will not enter your room without first knocking.
Assistance
Q: If I need help dressing, bathing, or eating is there someone available to help me?
A: Yes. There are staff members available 24 hours a day / 7 days a week to help you with any needs you may have.
Q: If I have problems walking will the staff give me enough time to get to the dinning room and activities?
A: Yes. In addition to personal staff assistance, there are handrails along the hallway to assist you. Our building is brand new and equipped with the latest in safety and convenience features.
Q: Are laundry and cleaning service avaliable?
A: Yes. We will clean your room and wash your linen and personal laundry weekly, at a minimum. Your bathroom will be cleaned daily.
Q: Can I pay for extra help if you lack the staff to care for me?
A: Yes. Home Health Care services are available and welcome to come to our facility to assist anyone needing additional care which is beyond our ability to provide.
Independence/Freedom
Q: Can I set my own daily routine such as when to get up, go to sleep, and bathe?
A: Yes to all.
Q: If I am able to drive, can I have my own vehicle?
A: Yes. We have plenty of parking for residents and visitors.
Q: Can my family visit whenever I want them to?
A: Yes, keeping in mind the consideration for your fellow residents.
Q: Can I stay overnight with friends or relatives or go on an overnight trip?
A: Yes. You are able to come and go as you please.
Q: Can I control the temperature in my room?
A: Yes. Each room is equipped with indiviual heating and air conditioning units as well as ceiling fan and windows that open so you can have fresh air as you choose.
Q: Can I bring my own furniture?
A: Yes. You are welcome to bring your furniture or we can supply some or all of it.
Q: Can I decorate or repaint my room?
A: Yes. We will work with you to personalize your room.
Q: Can I stay at the facility even when I become more dependent?
A: Yes. In Georgia, Personal Care Homes are able to provide for individuals with differing levels of need and care.
Meals
Q: Will I have a say in the meal planning?
A: Yes. All residents' likes and dislikes willl be considered for meal planning and there will be options at each meal.
Q: Are there set times for meals?
A: Yes. But there will always be food avalible if you do not want to eat at the scheduled times. As a small facility we can offer flexible meal times.
Q: If I am not feeling well and want to eat in my room, can I?
A: Yes. And because we are a small facility without corporate "rules" we can do this with no additional cost.
Q: Can I order food from outside to delivered with no additional cost?
A: Yes. There will be no add on charges from us.
Social / Activities
Q: Can my family join me for meals at the facility?
A: Yes. We welcome family and friends for meal time.
Q: Do I have to participate in group activities?
A: No. But we will have activities in which our residents want want to particiate. For example Bridge Club, Bingo, Game night, Movie night, Exercises, Religious activities, Craft, Entertainment, Outings and more. And if we aren't doing what you want to do, just let us know. As a small facility we are flexible to meet your needs.
Safety
Q: If I want to take a walk, are the sidewalks flat and even?
A: Yes. Our facility is the newest in town and our walkways around the facility are well lit and are monitored by security cameras. One lap around our facility is equal to 1/8 of a mile.
Q: Can I smoke in my room or common areas?
A: No, We are a smoke-free facility.
Q: At what point would I have to leave the facility?
A: When you require around the clock nursing care that by state law we are not permitted to provide.
Q: How would my medications be handled?
A: We can do all the work for you. We can get your prescriptions filled. Your medications will be locked in a secure place and we will ensure you get your medicine at the prescribed time and prescribed amount. We also keep records for what you take and give them to you doctor when you go for your appointments.
Q: Will you help me with arranging my finances, applying for veterans benefits, or other aid for which I qualify?
A: Yes.
Financial
Q: What happens if I run out of money?
A: We will help you arrange accomodation with other area facilities which may be able to better serve your needs.
